CLINICIAN / GUEST ARTIST:
Jazz Combo or Big Band settings. All levels with specialization on improvization
and ensemble techniques (oral tradition, rehearsal techniques, repertoire, rhythm
section, brass and saxophone sections). Guest appearances with combos and big
bandsfor High School, College, University and Community groups.
Have extensive personal library and sessions can include masterclasses in jazz
improvization, saxophone techniques, jazz repertoire, compositional/arranging/editing
techniques for all levels of ensembles, career development, and teaching the
oral traditions of the jazz language.
QUARTET: Alto saxophone, acoustic piano, acoustic bass, and drums in the styles of Phil Woods, Cannonball Adderley, Sonny Stitt, Jackie MacLean, Oliver Nelson, Hank Crawford, and Charlie Mariano. Recorded examples: For Sonny, Rezidential School Blues, Hannah's Dance.
QUINTET: "Keepers of the Spirit". Alto saxophone, trumpet, acoustic piano, acoustic bass, and drums in the tradition of Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie.
SEPTET: "The Elders Are Listening". Alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, trumpet, trombone, acoustic bass, acoustic piano, and drums in the Bluenote tradition of Horace Silver and Art Blakey.
